Casino (Movie Review)

A casino is an establishment for gambling. Its primary purpose is to generate profits for the owner by attracting patrons who hope to win money from their bets. In order to increase revenue, a casino may offer free or reduced-fare transportation, luxurious living quarters, and other amenities. Casinos are also social hubs that bring people together from all walks of life to share a common experience.

The glitz, glamour and excitement of casinos make them popular destinations for many people. However, it is important to understand the rules of each game before playing. Moreover, it is advisable to play in a group to amplify the fun. This way, you can have a more social experience while betting and winning.

In many ways, Casino is director Martin Scorsese dialing up Goodfellas to 11. It’s all about gangster Sam “Ace” Rothstein (Robert De Niro) funneling mob money out the back door of the fictional Tangiers hotel he all but runs in Las Vegas for his mob boss elders back East. Along the way, he enlists his former hooker/call girl and Vegas hustler girlfriend Ginger McKenna (Stone). But when the mob’s muscle man Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) comes to town, the whole thing starts to come apart.

While Casino may not be up to par with Scorsese’s masterpieces such as Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, it is still a riveting movie that captures the essence of a mob story. It’s not only about the money and power, but also about the relationships and betrayals that come with it.
